Hands on Summer Camp was initially formed by parents of hard-of-hearing children to provide their children with integrated educational and recreational experiences in a diverse environment. Over time, this concept has grown to "inclusive education and recreation" regardless of ability and strengths. Starting in Summer 2012, Hands on Summer Camp is pleased to introduce a new kind of summer camp: weekly day camps based on educational themes that will engage, delight, and excite children ages 5 – 12. These camps are based on:
- concepts such as discovery learning and total communication,
- the importance of technological and scientific savvy, and
- the necessity of working together in a positive manner.
Each week campers will solve puzzles, play games, and have a ridiculous amount of fun playing outside-oriented games. Well-rounded, satisfied, and exhausted campers will become capable and confident learners for the coming school year. |
