Hands On Summer Camp

We ensure that all staff members are fully trained in First Aid and CPR, signing and possess a Class 4 drivers license. The Hands On Summer Camp is committed to hiring students, and when possible, hard of hearing students as counselors.

Many of the counselors who have worked for the camp are students in Education, Child and Youth Care and Community Support. The experiences our staff gain from the camp often propel them into future careers, and provide valuable perspectives in public service & support, organization and group leadership.

We attempt to have younger volunteer participation concurrently with our hired staff, so that those youth may acquire the skills necessary to assist us with future employment. Our youth positions offer a valuable opportunity to hard of hearing individuals who may otherwise find it difficult to secure summer employment.
